About Replay systems
What is Replay ice compression?
Replay is a cold compression system that moves chilled water through a fitted wrap. Some models also add gentle air pressure. This combination may help manage swelling and soreness after sport or training. See the full Replay range to compare systems.
What is the difference between Replay Home, Replay Pro and Replay Med?
Replay Home and Replay Pro both deliver chilled water through a fitted wrap, with Replay Pro adding gentle air pressure. Replay Home suits simple home use, while Replay Pro suits more frequent training or clinic use. Replay MED is a separate, TGA registered medical device for clinician-led recovery after surgery or injury, and is accessed through a treating healthcare professional or clinic rather than direct purchase. Not sure which fits you? Read our guide to choosing the right system.
Do I need ice, cold water or gel packs?
You only need ice and tap water for Replay Home and Replay Pro. The system circulates water for steady cooling. Gel packs are not needed.
Safety and suitability
Is ice compression safe to use?
Most people can safely use cold and gentle pressure when used in short sessions. If you have reduced sensation, circulation concerns or a medical condition, check with a doctor or physio first.
Can I use Replay after surgery?
Many people use ice compression after surgery to help manage swelling. Always follow the advice of your surgeon or physio. If cold therapy is recommended as part of a structured post-surgery recovery plan, ask your treating healthcare professional about Replay MED, our clinician-led system for surgical and clinical recovery.
Who should not use ice compression?
People with reduced feeling in the area, circulation issues, unmanaged diabetes or open wounds should check with a health professional before using any cold therapy.
Using the system
How long should each session be?
Short sessions of around 10 to 20 minutes are usually enough for cooling and swelling care. Let the area warm back up between sessions. See our full how to use guide for step by step setup.
How often can I use Replay?
Most people use Replay once or twice a day after training or injury flare ups. It depends on your routine and the advice of your physio.
Do I need a wrap to use the system?
Yes. All cooling flows through a fitted wrap. Wraps are available for knees, ankles, shoulders, hips and other joints. Browse the full wrap range.
Choosing a wrap
How do I choose the right wrap size?
Wraps are sized by joint type rather than body size. Knee, ankle, shoulder and hip wraps all fit most adults. If you are unsure, contact our support team with your height and build. If you're dealing with a knee issue specifically, our knee recovery guide has more detail.
Can one wrap be used on different joints?
Some wraps such as the shoulder and hip wraps are joint specific. Knee and ankle wraps are shaped for their areas and give the best fit when used as intended.
Do all wraps work with all Replay systems?
Yes. All Replay wraps connect to Home and Pro units. Replay MED wraps are supplied as part of the clinician-led setup.
Swelling, soreness and recovery
Does ice compression help with swelling?
Cold flow may help slow blood flow to the area which may reduce swelling after sport, training or injury. Gentle pressure can support this effect. Read more on how ice compression therapy works.
Is ice compression better than ice packs?
Ice packs warm quickly and can give uneven cooling. Replay keeps cold water moving which may help bring steadier and more comfortable cooling. See our full ice compression vs ice packs comparison.
Can I use Replay before training?
Replay is mostly used after activity. If you want to cool an irritated joint before training, speak to your physio as cold can temporarily reduce mobility.
